A Father's Letter To His Son At The End Of His Junior Hockey Career

A Must Read For Parents

The following letter was given to a young man from his Father, shortly after the son had played his last competitive game.  The player, in releasing it to the public, said one thing before doing so, in that, “This is what it's all about.”

My hope is that readers save a copy if they anticipate someday reaching the same point with their youngster.  I think that this is something all of us hockey parents will one day wish we'd get a chance to write:

If you know anyone else involved in sports of any kind, please send them the link to this page.

To be honest, I think the want to someday write a letter like that might be used as a guide through all the earliest years of our sons' or daughters' time with us.

We have my good friend Joe K to thank for publishing the original of this letter on his website, The Junior Hockey News.  So, stop by his site sometime and thank him.
